Ingredients

  • 5 apples (Boscop)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • brown sugar (to taste)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 package Amaretti Cookies

Directions

  1. Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into large cubes.
  2. In a medium sauce pan, combine apples, 2 tablespoons of water, and cinnamon.
  3. Cover and cook over medium heat.
  4. Stir and sweeten with brown sugar to taste.
  5. Let cool.
  6. In a small bowl, crush amaretti to coarse crumbs.
  7. Set aside.
  8. With an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until creamy, and add sugar to taste.
  9. To serve, divide cream cheese into 4 dessert glasses, then add apple sauce, and top with crushed cookies. Repeat 3 layers.

This is a perfect dessert to make ahead of time and put in the fridge. My whole family loved them and wanted more! It is easy to make and I always get plenty of compliments from this dessert.
