Jazz up the usual Greek yogurt spread by adding herbs and some bitter, salty flavors. Finely chop up the herbs and fold them gently into the yogurt, along with the salty capers. Create a crunch by toasting Rye bread and blending it until it is crunchy golden crumbles. Layer the bread crumbs over the yogurt and finish the look by setting in the Radishes. Voilà! A fun, creative, and delicious spread ready to eat!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons greek yogurt
  • fresh herbs (chives, chervil, tarragon)
  • juice (Capers)
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1 bunch radishes

Directions

  1. Mix the greek yogurt with chopped fresh herbs, capers juice, salt and pepper.
  2. Toast the rye bread.
  3. Grind the bread in the blender to get fine crumbs. Transfer to a large bowl.
  4. Wash the radishes under cold water to remove the earth and plunge them for about 15 minutes in a bowl of cold water with a few ice cubes.
  5. Dry them gently.
  6. Place the radishes in the rye breadcrumbs.
  7. Serve immediately along with the yogurt dip.

Everyone asks me about these appetizers when I make them for parties. The radish provides a slight hotness to the sour greek yogurt; giving an infusion of contrasting flavors.
