Flax seed flavor was overpowering, even when tripling the seasoning. Not going to make this again

Much softer texture than other veggie burgers, but it tasted good. I squeezed out the he liquid out of the zucchini as recommended by previous reviewers, which worked well.

Fast and easy. Adding your own spices takes the guessing out

Patties stayed together very well and held up on the grill. Even with the seasonings it was a bit bland for me. Maybe since grated onion in the recipe would help?

Mushy. It’s ok if you dress up the buns with a lot of good stuff, I.e. mustard, lettuce, sliced cheese, tomatoes etc. very easy to make.

seems great. i added some chipotle seasoning!

This is a great hit with our vegan customers. We added pineapple. I myself enjoyed it thoroughly. I agree, handle with care as it's not "beef burger" firm.

Excellent! The only thing I would add is more steak seasoning and salt. I put extra in and it still wasn't flavorfull enough, but I like a lot of flavor and spice. All together though this was really good. My huband loved it! He ate his and the rest of my daughters left over burger and this is guy is a meat eater!! Very happy with it but I will tweek it a little more to my liking next time.

Not good. Threw my double batch in the bin. Waste of time and money. I suspect they left off some ingredients maybe.

Substituted my own seasonings/spices and it turned out great! Stayed put together and texture was as expected. And quick and easy to make :) Make sure to squeeze water out of zucchini!

it was quite ok. they didnt hold without eggs

Not good. Awkward taste and more awkward texture.
Gary Antonius 13 Feb
Followed directions but never firmed up. Didn’t have good taste or texture.

Need to try it again. The texture wasn’t good to my wife and I but, the taste was very good!

This recipe was easy and delicious, I paired it with roasted red peppers and tzatziki sauce.

Pretty Good! I enjoyed it

It turned out great even with replacing black beans with kidney beans. Do not forget to season and salt more than you would do with a meat dish, because zucchini will make it a lot veggie tasting.

Was actually surprised how well this turned out. My recommendation would be to mash the beans and zucchini first before adding the flax. And the seasoning that’s recommended is a bit bland. I made my own and it wasn’t as plain. Very good texture. (Make sure you squeeze the water out of the zucchini)

Turned out great! I use my own seasonings but that’s the only change. I’ve made them 3 times already and am making them again tonight! Two thumbs up from my hubby who loves his meat. And two from me because they are so easy and so quick to make. I use a potato masher.

Pretty bland. Needs more seasoning.

Well, they didn't fall apart like most veggie burgers. However, the amount of flaxseed meal lend to a mush, mealy texture (and a predominant flaxseed flavor). I would definitely add more substance (other beans, grains (if you're not avoiding them), etc.). The flaxseeds do serve as a nice binder though.

Sorry to say the burger needs flavor and its mushy. I added additional flavor and binders but still not tasty enough. The flax meal dominates the flavor profile The photo looks appealing and led me to try the recipe. Now I wonder if the photo is from this recipe.

The idea is good but the recipe isn’t it. I added a lot of things to increse the flavor

I made a few changes. After shredding zucchini and rinsing beans I dried them with paper towel. I used Italian seasoning instead. I sautéed 1 onion, garlic 1/4c minced mushrooms then added to mixture. I found it very tasty and would make again. Next time I will try adding a package of onion soup mix instead of the stark spice.

Terrible, slimy mess!
Susan L. 17 Sep 2017
Very moist with a good crust. Only made 3 patties though

Not very good. I had a difficult time mashing and keeping it all together, so I gave it a quick run through the food processor. This held them a bit more firmly, but when grilled they turned brown and were still pretty mushy. They did not look at all like the picture shown. Seasoning was necessary as they were tasteless after following the directions alone. I won't make them again.

Not the best recipe Instructions are poor. Zucchini should be squeezed to get the water out - should have been included in the actual recipe instructions. I'm sure there are better recipes out there. It's the first bean burger I made because it looked simple enough but I'm not making this one again.

Waste of time, went straight in the trash
Claudia M. 24 Aug 2017
Good, but needs more flavor, maybe cumin, cilantro, garlic...
