  • 1 quart canola oil (for frying)
  • 3 cups all purpose unbleached flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (or more if you like it spicy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary (crushed)
  • 2 teaspoons marjoram

I was missing some ingredients (I.e., replaced soda with beer and left out rosemary), but this was still delicious! The kids had seconds and that rarely happens at our house. We have made slightly crispier fried chicken in the past, though, even though we did get the extra crispy chunks that the recipe mentioned. Very recommended!
