Wild Rice with Burgos Blood Sausage Recipe

This stunning dish makes for a great appetizer or first course for a dinner party. By constructing this dish in a round mold, it makes for a beautiful and stunning presentation. The combination of tender rice, flavorful blood sausage, and vegetables ensures the perfect bite each time. Your guests will love the lovely layers and textures that make up this simple but stunning dish. The best part, this dish comes together in about an hour meaning you won't have to spend all day in the kitchen just to impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1 liter chicken broth
  • 200 grams wild rice
  • 1/2 sausage casing

Directions

  1. Add the oil to a skillet on medium heat. Saute the onion and bell peppers for 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate pot, add the chicken broth and wild rice. Cook for 30 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the stove and set aside.
  3. Add the blood sausage to the vegetables and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Use a ring mold to plate. Inside the ring, place a layer of rice, press down, and then a layer of blood sausage and vegetables. Repeat the process until the ring has been filled. Remove the ring to serve
