Description

This Whole Wheat Pita Bread is a wholesome bread that can be used for your favorite sandwich or with a savory sauce for dipping. Take time to create the bread that will make your meal a success! Who doesn't love a hearty bread to break among friends before dinnerr?

Ingredients

  • 325 milliliters water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 375 grams flour
  • 250 grams whole wheat flour
  • 21 grams yeast
  • 13 grams salt
  • 23 grams sugar

Directions

  1. Pour the water and olive oil into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add half of the regular flour and all of the whole wheat flour, yeast, salt, and sugar into the bowl.
  3. Mix the dough with an electric mixer at the lowest setting, adding the rest of the flour if necessary to thicken.
  4. Cover a separate bowl with a light layer of cooking spray or oil and place the dough in it. Let the dough sit for 1 hour.
  5. Roll the dough into balls about 100 grams each and flatten out into a thick, medium sized disks.
  6. Heat up a frying pan or stovetop grill and begin cooking the slices of dough.
  7. Make sure to toast both sides of each slice until the bread is completely cooked.
  8. Let cool and serve.
