Description

Walnuts and figs are a tasty and nutritional pair in these slightly sweet buns. With only seven ingredients, these buns can be made with ingredints you likely already have on hand and are great with a smear of butter fresh out of the oven. Try them on the side of a meal or use them as the base of a sandwich for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 380 grams flour (45 type)
  • 1 teaspoon yeast (dehydrated)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 210 milliliters water
  • 2 teaspoons oil (preferably walnut oil)
  • 50 grams walnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 50 grams dried fig (chopped)

Directions

  1. 1In a bowl, mix the flour and the salt. Make a well and pour in the water, oil, and yeast. Mix together and knead until it takes the form of a ball. Add the nuts and the figs and knead the dough for 10 to15 minutes. Cover the dough with a cloth and let rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  2. 2Form bread balls and place on a baking tray previously covered with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let the dough rest again for 20 minutes.
  3. 3Preheat oven to th 7.
  4. 4Brown the buns by brushing little oil on top of them. Before baking, pour a little water into the roasting pan to generate a little moisture in the oven (the bread will be crispier). Bake the buns and let them cook for about 25 minutes (cooking time will depend on the size of the buns).
