Description

Featuring walnuts and a hint of orange, this fluffy walnut cream cake is perfect for your next hosted event. Fresh and nutty, and ready in an hour, it is the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients

US|METRIC
  • 1 handful nuts (chopped)
  • 300 grams sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 orange
  • 200 milliliters cream (1 pack)
  • 300 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Grease a cake mold with margarine and sprinkle it with flour. Set it aside.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped nuts with flour, stir them, and set them aside.
  4. In a bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, and orange zest. Beat with the electric mixer until it becomes creamy.
  5. Add the cream and orange juice and beat again.
  6. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing them in at a lower speed.
  7. Place the dough in the cake mold and bake for about 40 to 50 minutes. Check the progress with a toothpick.
  8. Remove when finished and take it out of the mold.

Loved this recipe. Very delicious and not hard to make at all. It’s the perfect amount of sweet and nutty and the orange adds in a little freshness and zest. I will definitely be jotting this down so I can add it to my recipe book.
