  • 1 teaspoon tandoori masala (powder, optional, available from specialist Asian supermarkets)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 300 grams potatoes (/10½oz, peeled and cut into small pieces)
  • 300 grams onions (/10½oz, finely chopped)
  • 3 spring onions (trimmed, finely chopped)
  • 8 spinach leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 handful coriander leaves (fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • sunflower oil (for deep frying)
