  • 1/4 cup raw cashews
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala (or use a mix of ground cumin and coriander)
  • 1/3 teaspoon cayenne (adjust to heat preference)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (depends on if the tomatoes are salted. I use unsalted tomatoes and 3/4tsp salt.)
