Description

Make your own homemade chocolates to give as gifts or serve at your next event with this recipe for Vanilla Truffles. These truffles are made by melting dark chocolate and milk chocolate together with cream and vanilla for a rich and creamy chocolatey flavor that cannot be surpassed. Rolled in a sugar and cocoa powder mixture, these truffles are elegant in appearance and decadent in flavor. This recipe has instructions for formation of the truffles by hand, but you can also use a mold such as a cake pop mold to form the chocolate balls.

  • 125 grams cream
  • 100 grams milk chocolate
  • 125 grams dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

    Directions

    1. In a saucepan, heat the cream. When it is warm, add the milk chocolate and dark chocolate and stir until it melts. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
    2. Let it cool and stir occasionally. Once cool, stir with a whisk. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
    3. Separately, mix the cocoa powder and sugars.
    4. Remove the chocolate mixture from the refrigerator. With cold hands, shape into small spheres and cover with the chocolate milk powder mixture.
