Description

Pate is a great appetizer for entertaining. In this recipe, you need just 7 ingredients and only takes about 15 minutes to pull together. You can serve it simply with some rustic bread or give it a try as a spread on a sandwich or as an addition to a charcuterie plate. If you want to make it a little more custom, depeneding on what you plan to serve it with, try adding some fresh herbs to the mixture.

Ingredients

4 chicken livers
1 red onion (small)
1/2 carrots
port wine (A generous stream of)
salt
virgin olive oil (PepperExtra)

Directions

1Small dice the onion and carrot and then saute with extra virgin olive oil over low heat in a saucepan. When they are well sauted, add the sliced liver and a generous splash of Port wine and then let it simmer, stirring occasionally. When the liver is ready (about 10-15 minutes), remove from the heat and grind it. Put in a mold (or two) and let it cool (better in the fridge). After two or three hours, it will be compact and ready to taste.
