I took the chance and tried this fast way, but lacked the paper bag, so opted for a tinfoil tent. It worked well enough. Followed the directions to a tee, except my foil was still allowing the top of the turkey to brown too much, so I slowed the cook time by dropping to 350 after 2 and a half hours and adding an extra hour. Turkey turned out fantastic! Will always do it this way, no more 8 hour silliness to get an 8 hour tasting turkey. Every bit of it was eaten in less the two days... says a lot for my household that abhors leftovers.

Well the turkey tasted very good, however my 13 pound turkey was definitely not cooked after 2 hours. We had to put it in the oven for probably a total of 4 hours. Taste wise, turkey was good. Just beware this recipe has a prep and cook time of about 5 hours.

it turned out so delicious especialy the carrots and i think i will make a nother one and i think i will make it on thanksgiving
