This rice pudding comes together in about 20 minutes for a simple and delicious dessert. The best part about this recipe is that it is made in the microwave in one bowl, so you don't have to dirty a bunch of dishes just to create a tasty dessert. To make this recipe, you just need 8 simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. This recipe is great when you have to pull together a dessert when you are pressed for time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice (carolino)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons milk powder
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • ground cinnamon (for sprinkling)

Directions

  1. Put the rice, cinnamon stick, lemon peel, salt, and 4 cups of water in a microwavable bowl, and cook in the microwave for 18 minutes at full power.
  2. Remove and add the milk powder, the remaining 2 cups of water, and sugar, and put back in the microwave for 9 more minutes.
  3. Add 1/2 can of condensed milk, stir, and cook in the microwave for 4 minutes.
  4. Add remaining condensed milk and mix again.
  5. Let it sit for 5 minutes before removing it to the container where you will serve.
  6. Once cool, sprinkle with ground cinnamon to taste.

This 5 star tupperware rice pudding recipe was a blessing in disguise. Not only does it have that original rice pudding taste, it cuts the making time in half. I will only use this recipe from now on.
