Tuna with Oven-Roasted Tomatoes and Sesame Seeds

  • 12 tomatoes (skinned and halved)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 150 grams mayonnaise
  • 150 milliliters soured cream
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 6 tuna steaks (sushi-quality, about 100g each, each cut into 4 slices)
  • 100 grams rocket

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°F. Place the tomatoes in a baking dish and season. Drizzle with 1 tsp olive oil and 1/2 tsp sesame oil. Roast for 1 hour. Remove the tomatoes from the oven and wrap a slice of tuna around each tomato half. Drizzle with the lime juice, 1/2 tsp soy sauce and 1/2 tsp sesame oil. Return to the oven and cook for 3 mins.
  2. Meanwhile, make the mayonnaise dip. Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, 1 tbsp soy sauce and the remaining sesame oil. Season.
  3. To serve, whisk together the reserved lime juice and 2 tbsp olive oil, season then toss with the arugula. Distribute the salad between 4 plates, arrange the tuna-wrapped tomatoes on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with the mayonnaise dip.
