Description

Tender tuna steaks are marinated in teriyaki sauce for a flavorful and bold meal. The steaks are very briefly seared for a golden outside while the center remains raw, for the perfectly cooked tuna. The tuna is paired with caramelized onion, which are simmered in teriyaki sauce for tons of flavor and the perfect complement to the seared tuna. Pair these tuna steaks with some lightly sauteed bok choy and a little bit of rice for a perfectly balanced meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tuna steaks
  • teriyaki sauce
  • 2 red onion
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Marinate the tuna in teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Add the oil to a skillet on low heat. Add the onions and saute until they are soft and transparent, about 8 minutes.
  3. 3Add 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce and simmer for 5 minutes to caramelize the onion with the sauce.
  4. 4Set the onion aside and plate it. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1 minute on each side on high heat, so it will be golden brown on the outside and raw on the inside.
