This tuna rillette takes few cues from the traditional dish. Canned tuna is mixed with cottage cheese then seasoned with salt, pepper, and curry for a dish that has tons of flavor. A sprinkling of fresh chives adds a little freshness and after a little rest in the fridge you can enjoy it with some toasted bread or breadsticks. This dish makes a great appetizer when entertaining a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 150 grams cottage cheese
  • 160 grams tuna in oil
  • 1 bunch chives
  • curry
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Drain the tuna and place in a bowl.
  2. Mix the tuna with the cottage cheese.
  3. Add curry, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Finely mince the chives and add to mixture.
  5. Keep the rillettes cool for at least 30 minutes, before serving alongside slices of bread, breadsticks, or vegetable sticks.

I made this as a dip alongside crackers and crudites. I used a large pinch of curry because I wanted the flavor to be bold and spicy. It was very good.
