  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips (dried fruit and/or nuts)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and sugar until soft and creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt then fold in. Fold in mix-ins until just combined. Shape into 12 balls then arrange on prepared trays and bake for 12-15 mins, until browned at the edges. Let cool for 2 mins then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
