Description

If you think tiramisu, the ever-popular Italian restaurant dessert, is too difficult to make at home, you're in for a welcome surprise. This recipe can be finished in just 45 minutes, and besides beating egg whites into stiff peaks with a mixer, everything can be done by hand, and without any particular cooking skils. Rather, it's a matter of assembling the various components and allowing the flavors and textures to meld before serving, to an appreciative audience.

Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 80 grams powdered sugar
  • 250 grams mascarpone
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 150 grams heavy whipping cream
  • 2 egg whites
  • salt
  • cocoa powder
  • cookies (as a garnish)

Directions

  1. Beat the egg yolks with the powdered sugar until creamy and white.
  2. Mix the mascarpone cheese in well.
  3. Separately, mix the instant coffee with water and, once combined, add to the bowl.
  4. Separately, beat the heavy cream until whipped into soft peaks. Carefully fold into the mixture.
  5. Beat the egg whites with a little salt into soft peaks. Fold this into the mixture.
  6. Pour into a mold or individual glasses and refrigerate at least an hour.
  7. Garnish with cocoa powder and cookies.
