Description

This dessert requires only 4 ingredients and 25 minutes of work to transform into something delicious and stunning. This trifle pairs tart mascarpone cheese with delicate macaroons for a dessert that is surprisingly simple. You can make this dish a day ahead of time if you are preparing for a party, that way you will have less to do on the day of the event. If you have some seasonal fruit that you need to use, simply mix it into the macarpone or layer between the mascarpone and the macaroons.

Ingredients

  • 375 grams mascarpone
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 16 macarons (small)

Directions

  1. Separate the eggs whites from yolks.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the 4 egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture whitens. Add the mascarpone cheese, mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk 3 egg whites until foamy (the 4th will not be used for the recipe) with a pinch of salt.
  4. Gently add whisked egg whites into sugar mixture.
  5. Cut macarons in pieces.
  6. In serving glasses, add a layer of mascarpone cheese, a layer of macarons, a layer of mascarpone, topping off with a layer of macarons.
  7. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
