- 8 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar (I like to use raw cane sugar with a coarser texture)
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (more as needed – see video)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (but I always add a little extra)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (I use a combination of chocolate chips and chocolate chunks)

Everything worked out really well.. my butter was over melted but still worked great! I flattened my cookies a bit before baking them to help even the cooking out

The cookies were not sweet, very cakey, and a little salty. Not a fan of this recipe at all.

Always perfect! Only recipe I will ever use. My husband is a chocolate chip Cookie Monster and is very picky about the perfect cookie. This one wins every time.

A lot of recipes claim to be “the best,” but these really are the best! It might take a couple of tries and a little experimentation to get your batter and your bake time exactly right, but once you do, you’ll see the recipe is really very simple and makes perfect, soft, delicious cookies. I typically add just about 1/8 c extra flour and bake for 10 minutes. I’ve shared them at work and with my family at the holidays, and they always receive highest praise. One of the best recipes I’ve ever found on Yummly.

I’ve tried making this recipe three times, each time trying to correct whatever i did wrong, and every single time, it comes out wrong. The first two times, the cookies came out puffed up and cakey. The third time, they came out undercooked, the middle completely raw. I’m done giving this recipe a chance and am taking my baking elsewhere.

This is THE BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe. I know you’ve read that before on countless recipes but these are no joke. I never had luck with chocolate chip cookies because they’d always spread in the oven and be thin and crispy but these stay soft, chewy, and perfect. I use a cookie scoop and make about 15 cookies, and i use sea salt to get those little bursts of salt in each bite. I make these at least three times a month for my family and they are always a huge hit with anyone who tries them.

Used fan bake for 12 min at 350F. Taste wonderful however a little undercooked so left for another 3 min and perfect. slightly crunchy golden base and sides with soft but not soggy inside. Thanks.
