It was a delicious chicken but the flavor on the outside was a off and din’t go with the mood of the flavor on the inside of the chicken.

Tender and great taste.....I cooked it whole and just butterflied the whole chicken. Roasted at 450 for 15 and then 350 for 1.5 hours

This chicken was super moist, and perfectly done with the time stated in the recipe. I might try it with different seasonings, but loved how simple and quick this technique is!

What a treat. We did add some Italian seasoning to the chicken for some additional flavor. We were pleasantly surprised on how well this turned out. Very good meal!

Great, I may use this technique with other flavorings, like honey cayenne

well my brolier is under the oven so when i turned the oven to 250 after broiling in the broiler, not the OVEN, i ended up turning up the temp to 300 after the 20 minutes because it still was not done -maybe if my oven had the broiler in it, the temp would have been higher during the broiling process . put in a thermometer to make sure it was done . it took a good 45 minutes in oven a ft er broiling but at a higher temp

BLAND. Would not make again

Honestly, this is how I season my birds ALL THE TIME, because this is all they need- using Pink Himalayan salt ONLY. However, my chicken wasn't deboned so I did leave it in a bit longer so that the breasts were cooked completely through . Next time I will cut the breasts in half or thirds to speed up the cooking process. But the flavor was SPOT ON, and I made gravy from the drippings. 😉

Took longer than what it said... not the "best recipe ever " I wouldn't make it again

Underwhelmed.. that's my mother in law's can't be asked chicken at the end of a long week when she can't be asked to cook.
Hello 30 Jul 2017
I liked it and the experience of making it but it could've been more seasoned
Chjava 24 Jun 2017
This was good, but can't say it was the best chicken I've ever cooked. It was juicy and worth the time.
Tracey Buffington 9 Jun 2017
My (very difficult to please) son loved it. Very simple recipe, though it got done at about 15 minutes at 250*
Mechelle P. 6 Apr 2017
The chicken was pretty good. I used chicken thighs instead of whole chicken. To add more flavor I dipped the pieces in chicken broth twice during cooking process. I also broiled it again for 5 minutes before I served it.
Jenn 26 Mar 2017
Excellent. I didn't debone it even. The broiling and turning kept setting off my smoke alarm, but really great recipe. :)

Not the best. Not much flavor and the cook time was not long enough to fully cook the chicken. It really tasted kind of bland.

Our Whole Foods butcher was very happy to de-bone the chicken, then packaged up the bones to make stock, which was great. We found this incredibly tasty (even though it's only seasoned with salt) ridiculously easy, very juicy and a big win with the family. I rec'd a lot of praise for a great job, but I was almost embarrassed to take credit, it was just too easy. As for those who think more spices add more flavor, sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the natural, basic flavor of the meat without a lot of other things going on. That said, I can definitely see this very basic idea of de=boning and roasting a chicken working well with spices that highlight number of cuisines, French, Greek, Asian, Spanish, Moroccan and on and on....

Didn't really find it to be the best. For me the low temp (after broiling) and short time was not enough to cook through. I may try again with a thermometer.
