Ingredients

  • 3 pounds lean ground beef (seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic)
  • 1 can black beans (drained and mashed)
  • 1 onions (medium, chopped)
  • 1/2 bell pepper (a large, chopped)
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 15 ounces kidney beans (drained)
  • 15 ounces Great Northern Beans (drained)
  • 12 ounces tomato paste
  • 28 ounces marinara sauce (I used Trader Joe's Tuscano Marinara Sauce)
  • 1 cup water
  • shredded cheese (to top)
