- 1 tablespoon agave nectar (or honey, cane sugar, or something like Stevia-in-the-Raw Granulated Sweetener if you prefer)
- 1 onion (cut in slivers)
- 1 red bell pepper (cut in thin strips)
- 1 tablespoon oil (high smoke point, such as avocado oil, peanut oil, or grapeseed oil)
- 3 cloves garlic (cut in slices, for seasoning the oil)
- 2 cups basil leaves (chopped, or Thai basil leaves, more or less to taste and depending on whether you have to buy basil)

My husband and I both loved this! Has great flavor and reminds me of the Thai dish Pad Kra Pao. I had to make extra sauce, though, since it was pretty dry. But I’d definitely make this again!

Delicious! This is a favorite in our house. The only adjustments I made was to add ginger and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper with the garlic (which I do not discard) I also doubled the sauce recipe to add flavor to the rice.

I love this dish. The flavors are great. An easy go to meal. Sometimes I put it with rice or over zucchini 'noodles'.

Dish was great. I would triple the sauce requirement the next time I make it. I also added an extra pepper and used only have an onion.

Great! I doctored it up a bit by adding 2 tbsp. Lemongrass paste and 1 tbsp. Oyster sauce. A dash of Chinese five spice as well. Served in butter lettuce boats. Yum!!

Delicious!!! The flavors popped in the sauce!!! I substituted the bay leaves with cilantro because I didn't have bay leaves and YUM!! I hate I didn't make enough this time!! I will know next time :)

One of my favorite recipes I've found on here so far! Quick, easy and delicious! Left out the fish sauce but still has great flavor. Served it over brown rice. Will definitely make this again.

Really good I served it with broken rice, green leaf lettuce and quick pickled diakon radish. I added sambol instead of siracha, xylitol as the sweetner. It's good with basil but better with an equal mixture of cilantro / coriander, Thai basil and mint.

This was sooooo tasty, for a little extra kick try adding sambol olek though instead of Sri Racha. It's more authentic and has more heat.
