Way, way, way too much pepper. I used fresh green beans. I can’t imagine canned would turn out good.

No reason for the sugar! Makes a nice dish without it! Add the amount of pepper to your taste. I also use the water the green beans are canned in. Any more than that is too watery!

Easy and yummy with very few ingredients. They turned out perfectly!

I skipped a step, fried the bacon and onions, then added a little pepper and the sugar into the pan, I let the bacon caramelize for a little bit before adding preheated water and the beans.

Delicious! I added a little honey and some flour to the mixture to thicken it up, and it was amazing!

My favorite side dish! I use half the pepper and 2tsp of local honey instead of sugar. Then simmer all the water out of it. It takes about an hour.

Oh my, way too much pepper! I wish I would have read the reviews before my husband made this. Use maybe 1/2 tsp.

was sceptical given the lack of ingredients but it was delicious. can't believe how simple to prepare it was and how good it taste. would recommend with rice to soak up the juices

I put in half the pepper and it had a kick, can't imagine the full amount. Delicious, I will repeat!

I used this as a base for my own green beans recipe. First, dont use sugar. You really don't need the added sweetness. Second, cut the base amount of pepper down to 1/2 tsp. The amount of pepper in the posted recipe can really overpower the flavor. You can add more to taste once you serve the dish.

Be sure to cook the bacon for a few minutes before adding the onions as the onions cooked too quickly. I would suggest using less pepper as these turned out too spicy and I like spicy food!
