French green lentils are firmer and hold their shape better than brown lentils and add a certain je ne sais quoi to the flavor and texture of this comforting vegan soup.
Ingredients

- 1 onion (medium, chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 carrots (diced)
- 1 celery stalk (diced)
- 3 sweet potatoes (medium, peeled and cut into 3/4 inch cubes)
- 14.5 oz. tomatoes (can No Salt)
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger (minced*)
- 1 tsp. spice (Savory, Shop Moroccan Blend)
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/8 tsp. harissa (ground, or cayenne pepper*)
- 7 cups vegetable (or chicken broth)
- 1 cup green lentils (French Puy)
- 1 cup Swiss chard (cut into ribbons*)
