  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (if you omit, you may have to reduce the milk)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons Earth Balance (or butter)
  • 2 tablespoons flour (I used spelt flour)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (I used Sucanat)

This recipe is so delicious. It makes the whole house smell amazing. I had walnuts so I used those instead of pecans. I wanted the topping to go a little farther so I just added some dry oatmeal to the topping mixture. Anyone could do this. It's a good recipe to make for those people who think that vegans don't eat anything but iceberg lettuce and beans.
