Description

Rum and raisins are secret weapons in this self-proclaimed world's moistest cake. Its marbled batter is divided in two, with one portion left plain and the other made chocolatey with the addition of cocoa. Baked in a tube pan (also called an angel food cake pan), it can be customized to your taste so consider adding grated lemon zest or chocolate chips. Additionally, milk can be used in place of water for more decadent results.

Ingredients

  • sandwich bread
  • butter
  • sweet pepper
  • onions
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • cheese

Directions

  1. 1Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and cut into small chunks.
  2. 2In a frying pan or skillet, pour a dash of olive oil, add the onions and cook until brown.
  3. 3Add the peppers, cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Add a few tsps of water as necessary to keep from sticking to the pan.
  4. 4When the peppers are soft and tender, remove from the heat, add salt to taste and leave to cool.
  5. 5Toast the bread. Spread with garlic butter.
  6. 6Add peppers and cheese, place under a grill for a few minutes and serve.
