Ingredients

  • 300 grams vermicelli
  • 0.5 liters milk
  • 200 milliliters cream
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 lemon peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 orange blossoms
  • 300 grams sugar
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 50 grams ground almonds (coarsely)

Directions

  1. Bring a pot with water and some rock salt to a boil.
  2. Break the pasta in half, and add to the boiling water.
  3. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes, then drain well. Rinse in cold water, and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, mix the milk, cream, cornstarch, egg yolks, lemon peel, cinnamon stick, orange flowers, sugar, honey, and crushed almonds.
  5. Mix well, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  6. When hot, add the vermicelli, and continue cooking, stirring until sauce thickens slightly.

This 4 star sweet almond pasta will be a brilliant new addition to our dinner regimen. The pasta was very supple and the entire dish had an enjoyable creaminess to it. The top layer of the dish has a golden brown crust with cinnamon sprinkled across it.
