Ingredients

  • 2 beets (sugar)
  • 300 grams chickpea (cooked)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • lemon juice (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • olive oil (to taste)

Directions

  1. Cook the beets, unpeeled, and boil until very tender.
  2. Remove from heat, drain, and let cool slightly. Peel, and cut in chunks.
  3. In a blender, place the beets, chick-peas, garlic, lemon juice, and cumin. Blend to a puree.
  4. Gradually add, if necessary, a little warm water and olive oil, to obtain the desired consistency.
