Description

Nopal cactus is flavorful, has a wonderful texture, and is a perfect addition to any dish. This recipe for Steamed Nopales is delectable and savory. Ingredients include vegetable oil, minced garlic cloves, minced green onions, nopales cut in strips, and salt.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/4 green onion (minced)
  • 0.5 kilograms nopales (cut into strips)
  • salt

Directions

  1. Place a frying pan on the stove at medium heat and pour in the vegetable oil.
  2. Add the garlic and onion and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add the nopales and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well and then cover the pan with a lid.
  4. Cook everything for approximately 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Uncover the pan and cook everything for another 15 minutes or until the liquid has completely evaporated. Serve warm.

I had high expectations for this recipe before I made it and it met every single one of them. It was super easy to make, not a lot of ingredients, and did not take a lot of time to make. My whole family requested I make it again because they tasted so good. 4 star recipe all around; definitely making this again.
