Ingredients

  • 90 grams butter (melted at room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger (ground)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (ground)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. 2Mix the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. 3Mix the butter, sugar, and eggs (adding them one by one) in a different bowl. Add the honey, milk, and vanilla, and stir until the flour is no longer visible.
  4. 4Add the lemon zest, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and the mixed flour to the butter.
  5. 5Grease a pound cake pan and pour the dough mixture in until 3/4 filled.
  6. 6Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. 7Remove it from the oven and let it cool off completely.
  8. 8Garnish the pound cake with a frosting of lemon juice mixed with powdered sugar and serve.
