Ingredients

  • 16 ounces spaghetti
  • 2/3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion (medium, peeled and finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 1/8 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 5 ounces tuna in oil (drained)
  • basil leaves
  • lime zest

Directions

  1. Cook the spaghetti in a pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile heat the butter in a pan, add the onion and garlic and cook for a few mins until soft.
  3. Pour in the cream, bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water, then add it to the pot to thicken.
  4. Add the capers and season with salt, pepper, chili and lime juice.
  5. Add flakes of tuna and stir in gently. Drain the spaghetti and stir into the sauce. Serve in warm bowls and garnish with basil and lime zest.
