Spaghetti Bolognese is one of my families all time favourite meals, I make at least once or twice a month and am always interested new ways of cooking it.I thought this recipe was better that some I have seen as it hadn't added lots of extra vegetables, losing the point of the rich meat and tomato sauce, however I still prefer my usual method as I found it a bit too spicy and busy for a Bolognese with all the seasoning and also found the soup gave it a slight processed taste. When I prepare this myself I always add some butter to the mince as it begins to cook, allowing it to melt before I add the onions and two cloves of fresh crushed garlic and some black pepper. I use extra tinned tomatoes instead of the soup and use tomato puree to thicken it after I have added the flavourings. The only extra flavour I add is salt, black pepper, a vegetable stock cube, dried basil and dried oregano. I also add some brown sugar as I find it brings out the richness of the tomatoes.
