Ingredients

  • 15 ounces chickpeas (or garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed well, 425 g, mine has added salt)
  • 1 cup sweet potato (cooked, mashed, 230 g, either roasted whole or microwaved, don't steam)
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (smoky, either your favorite storebought or my recipe below is recommended!)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional for kick of heat)
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal (coarse medium-grind, not corn flour, 43 g)
  • 5 barbecue sauce (Minute Smoky)

It was very simple to make and came together well. The texture was soft and firm not crumbly like other vegan burgers. I haven’t eaten them yet but the raw batter tasted good
