Followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I also let it rest for aprox 20 minutes after coming out of the oven. Easy weeknight dinner that I will make again.

I know that Yumly doesn't have difficulty ratings but this was not great. Admittedly I'm a beginner cook so the blame is not all on the recipe but the first problem is the heat. 365 fahrenheit is gas mark 2 when a whole chicken needed gas mark 5. This was the first chicken I ever roasted and it was kind if a disaster. Sorry if everyone else had no issue and I'm just a bad chef.

Delicious! My husband and I were very pleased with this recipe! I served with baked sweet potatoes and lemony Brussel sprouts. Someone commented about the skin not being crispy so I added a little butter to the honey and lemon for basing; it came out very crispy. I was amazed how delicious the smoked paprika, honey, and lemon came together. I will be making chicken salad and bone broth from the leftovers. Roasting a chicken is never a waste!

Instead of smoky paprika, I used sweet paprika. I was afraid I would not like the difference. OH MY! This was delicious!! The anticipation as to whether I would like this or not grew to 'I can't wait' as I basted the chicken. I will not only make this again, I will make for guests. I would suggest that the temperature of the chicken be more room temp so the butter in the paste does not seize up and therefore rub on the chicken easier. The only change I would make is to somehow get the chicken skin crispy. Thank you so much for this easy but very flavorful recipe! I might even try making again and finish off on the grill.
