Smoked Ham and Cheese Strudel

With frozen puff pastry on hand, this strudel is the ultimate in ease—especially if you also happen to have cooked ham, Parmesan, and a melting cheese like mozzarella in the refrigerator, too. Once you’ve layered the dough with the slices of ham and cheese, sprinkle it with Parmesan and roll up to enclose the fillings. Brushing with milk will ensure that the crust becomes golden brown during baking. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • 1 sheet pastry dough
  • smoked cooked ham
  • cheese
  • parmesan cheese
  • milk

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry dough and cover it with slices of ham and cheese. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Roll up the strudel as usual and place it on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  4. Brush the dough with milk and bake for approximately 23 to 25 minutes or until completely golden brown.
  5. Serve warm.

This has to be one of the best strudel recipes I have ever experienced. The ham was nice and moist; you could really taste the smoky flavor. The ham was swimming in all of that delicious cheese. I would definitely give this recipe 4 stars and plan to make it many more times.
