OMG TASTED LOVELY. I used yellow split peas as didn’t have green. And used a 500g gammon joint. Didn’t have any parsley. Cooked on high for 3 hours then low for 2. What a lovely warming soup. So easy to just throw in the slow cooker. Nice and thick. I’m amazed at how good it tasted. Especially with fresh bread to dip. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Thanks for the recipe.
exelent .What a awsome idea with the carrots and i didnt have 2 cups a ham only a 1 cup so i used a 1 cup of breakfast turkey sausage links.But came out great.Thank you and i will let my friends know about this exelent split pea soup.

So far so good the flavours are rich however they haven’t blended quite yet so I’m leaving it in the slow cooker on ‘keep warm’ to let the flavours slowly combine as I’m out the entire day! Can’t wait for supper ✌️

This recipe was so easy, which was great! Unfortunately the slow cooker never got the split peas very soft. I even kept it in the slow cooker for an extra 9 hours on the medium setting. I’ll try a non slow cooker version next time.

I like this recipe as far as the ingredients go. However, this soup WILL burn if cooked on low for 8-10 hours. Mine completely dried up and is mushy and inedible. Definitely cook it for less time and go generous on the chicken broth.

I have a smaller crockpot and could only fit 6 cups of broth in, but it still turned out great. Will definitely make again!
