    Well for starters the recipe does not take 1.5hrs to complete. I gave myself 3.5 hours to make the dish cause it’s a dish I’ve never attempted before and I thought better to have extra time than not enough time when planning a dinner party. As I completed my prep work and started adding ingredients to my crock pot I noticed one little instruction… “Cook on high for 5 HOURS” CRAZY that a recipe said to only take 1.5 hrs has a 5 hour cook time direction. Needless to say I had order pizza and it’s said that my gumbo is still cooking to this day.

    Turned out more like a soup type gumbo, but was still very good. I followed the directions exactly. If you like more heat, add jalapeño peppers and/or more Cajun spice.
