Ingredients

- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 Tbsp. ghee
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. basil
- 3 yams (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 green bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
- 1 red bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
- 1 cup tomato sauce

Directions
- In a large frying pan set over medium heat, saute the onions in ghee for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Turn the heat to medium high and add the ground beef, breaking up the meat with a spatula.
- Add the oregano and basil to the meat as it is browning. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Lay the yams on the bottom of the slow cooker, then add the green and red peppers and mushrooms.
- Place the beef on top and pour tomato sauce over it. Cook on low for 6 hours.
