One of the best sloppy joe recipes I’ve had

It turned out great. It was definitely better than what you get in a can!

This has a strange taste, and we finally figured out that it was undercooked garlic. I would change the directions and sauté the garlic and onion first to insure thorough cooking, not add it to the meat per directions. A half teaspoon red pepper flakes was a bit spicy for my grandkids 8-12, but they ate it.

Quite quite yummy! Although much to the shame of the Pioneer Woman, I’m sure.... I just browned my ground beef without any butter. 🤷🏻♀️ Plenty of fat in it to begin with Used all the other ingredients as well, tho I also started with less ground beef so I just eye balled all of them it has very good flavor! I may never/nay will never buy another can of Manwhich! I much prefer a spicy sloppy joe! Thanks!

This recipe is really good on its own, however, I did make a few alterations to make it a little healthier and not be so acidic. For 1lb of ground beef, I used 140g (150ml) of ketchup instead of using 177ml had I followed the recipe to a tee. I also did not add tomato paste as the flavour was spot on without any particular flavour overpowering others. The rest of the ingredients were followed more or less, but next time I would definitely add more chilli (1/3tsp more). I added 4 cloves of garlic (medium-large), and added 5-6 shakes of Worcestershire sauce as many people in the comments recommended it. I made this recipe using 4 servings on Yummly.

YUMMMMMM. Made this with a few changes. Here's the measurements I used: 2 tablespoons butter, 1 pound ground beef, 1/2 whole onion (Large, Diced), 1 whole green bell pepper (Large, Diced), 5 teaspoon jar garlic (Minced), 3/4 cups ketchup, 3/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 3 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons tomato paste, 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, And just used go ol' regular sliced white bread, with a slice of american cheese. I was told never to bother buying manwich again. It's so easy, and soooo good, that the few extra mins for this, is soooo worth it.

This one is a keeper. I cooked the ground beef and then mixed everthing else with the beef in the crock pot. Set it on low for 4 hours. Terrific!
