This tasty Sinaloa-style Tamale Casserole makes a hearty dinner entree that your family is sure to love. Pick up a bag of your favorite tamales at your local grocery store or if you have the right connections, get freshly made tamales for this recipe. Cooked enchilada style, these tamales are covered in enchilada sauce, cream, and manchego cheese and then baked until melty. Leave the tamales whole or cut into pieces before adding the sauce. You can use green or red enchilada sauce, whichever you prefer!

Ingredients

  • 10 tamales (frozen, defrosted)
  • 420 grams enchilada sauce (canned La Costena)
  • cream
  • manchego cheese (grated)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a casserole dish, place the tamales in pieces.
  3. Pour the sauce on top. Spread the cream and sprinkle with plenty of cheese.
  4. Place in the oven until the cheese melts.
  5. Serve.

This is the best recipe for tamale casserole I have ever made. The dish looks beautiful with the melted cheese. Green or red enchilada sauce is the perfect addition to make it even better!
