  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 4 1/2 green (cardamons, pods crushed)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (each of, coriander seeds, aniseed, black pepper and cloves)
  • 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup green lentil (flat)
  • 2 cups chicken (mince, turkey or beef)
  • 1 finely chopped onion (medium)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons ginger paste (mixture of)
  • 4 tomatoes (chopped medium)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (each of, powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder)
  • To add on top once assembled: 1 green chilli, bunch of fresh chopped coriander and some chopped mint, a few slices of lemons and limes pinch of saffron in hot milk left to soak for 20 min, 1 tbsp of rose water
