Bread is very dense and heavy. Great for eating alone or with condiments. Recipe is simple and inuitive.

My family loves this and the honey wheat variation I make, this is my new favorite go to recipe!

So easy to make! I only had dry active yeast so I just let it sit in water and sugar while I prepared the other ingredients the bread came out soft and super yummy. Definitely will be making it again!

Very good and so easy to make

Good recipe, but I think I either added too much flour or not enough yeast - it didn’t rise. I cooked for the 25 mins, but it was under cooked. The flavor was good, so I’ll experiment next time to see what I did wrong, because I am sure it was me.

Delightful and easy to make. I used the smaller amount of sugar, and it was still notably sweet. Might halve that next time

My 5 kids demolished it! Most homes “I’ll give you sweets if you behave... my home, I’ll bake you guys bread if you behave...” I have a house of well behaved kids!

Made this today. I didn’t have the quick yeast or the bread flour called for. I used regular active dry yeast and mixed that with one cup of the warm water and a tablespoon of the sugar and let it activate for about 10 minuets before mixing it into the flour mixture. I did flour my service and kneaded the bread for about 5 minuets also. The bread turned out great. My wife and I both love it.

This bread is delicious! I adjusted to 16 servings instead of 20 and I think accidentally added too much water- dough was extremely tacky and sticky and spread out but not up on the rise, but it plumped up and baked great in the oven! I mixed and kneaded by hand and it still ended up with a nice soft texture in the middle and a crust with just a hint of crunch. Also used cold water and just let the dough rise an extra 10-15 minutes to bring out the flavor. Excellent bread.

It was really good my whole family approved and make it more than once

Surprisingly good, but should probably call for 2 1/4 water, I’ve tried several times to only use 2 cups and I always end up using more water. Additionally, the bread comes out much more crusty if you preheat to 450

Great taste, I had cut recipe in half but added to much water so kneaded it with more flour. It still turned out good and raised well.
Gaby Garcia 20 Sep 2017
