Description

These shrimp are wrapped in delicate and crunchy kadaif, which is shredded filo dough, for a crisp and beautiful presentation. Kaffir lime leaves, cilantro, and turmeric add a ton of flavor. This dish has under 150 calories and comes together in an hour, making it a healthy and quick dish. The kadaif provides a nice crunch while the shrimp are tender and juicy, for a perfectly balanced dish that makes a great appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 18 shrimp (large raw, shelled)
  • 1/2 kaffir lime (if the zest of half a lime)
  • olive oil (A drizzle of)
  • turmeric
  • pepper
  • 3 sprigs cilantro (finely chiseled)
  • A package of kadaïfs (angel hair)
  • 50 grams butter

Directions

  1. Prepare the marinade with the lime zest, turmeric, Espelette pepper, coriander, and oil.
  2. Add the prawns and mix well. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Drain the prawns. Take a small amount of kadaif and wrap around a shrimp. Place the shrimp on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process for each shrimp.
  5. Brush each the shrimp with melted butter kadaif.
  6. Bake for ten minutes, turning them over halfway through cooking, the kadaïfs should be brown.
  7. Serve immediately.
