Description

This Recipe offers a colorful Mexican dish. Both salty and sweet, the seafood brings a savory flavor to the dish. Kid-friendly this can be eaten for dinner and lunch

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onions
  • 500 grams jumbo shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • milk
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • empanada wrappers
  • 1 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius,
  2. Add the olive oil to a skillet heated to medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 8 minutes or until softened.
  3. Add the chopped shrimp and saute for 4 minutes. Add the flour and mix well.
  4. Add milk until a thick paste forms. the mixture is bound. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Fill the empanada/wonton wrappers.
  6. In a small bowl, add the egg and water and mix well.
  7. Close and seal with the egg wash and a fork.
  8. Bake the empanadas for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.
