Description

These crispy Shrimp Croquettes or full of your favorite seafood flavor and creamy smoothness. Featuring a thick bechamel sauce that envelopes each shrimp, these croquettes are then coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried to golden perfection. The bechamel and shrimp mixture needs to be refrigerated for at least 4 hours before frying so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time. Serve with a variety of sauces for dipping. These croquettes are a fun finger food that can be served with dinner, as an appetizer, or as a fun afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 liter milk
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 200 grams jumbo shrimp
  • 1 eggs
  • bread crumbs

Directions

  1. 1Melt the butter in a saucepan on medium heat.
  2. 2Little by little, add the flour followed by the milk. Add everything little by little until the bechamel has thickened and the milk has heated through.
  3. 3Add a pinch of salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. 4Add the shrimp and stir well.
  5. 5Put the croquette mixture in a covered dish and chill for at least 4 hours.
  6. 6Form balls and coat in egg and then breadcrumbs
  7. 7Fry the croquettes in hot oil. Drain on paper towel and serve warm.
