I amended by adding a few sprigs of thyme and rosemary, a couple dashes of liquid smoke, and a squeeze of lemon juice. I also used veggie broth in lieu of water for cooking the beans.

Loved it, and it was simple to make!! definitely will make this again in the future

This was perfect! I can't stop eating it. Used a ham bone from a spiral ham I had frozen plus some ham chunks that I saved and froze. So yummy!

Super! I did add a bit of brown sugar as suggested in the comments and had some heavy cream 1/4cup left in the fridge. The sugar certainly made a difference. The cream did not. Great soup.

it was pretty good, byt next time I will use a regular ham instead of a hock ham. that ham was too rough. Also using broth instead of water would make it much more flavorful. Other than that it was great!
