Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon promise buttery spread
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 1 clove garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 pound green beans (trimmed)
  • 1/2 cup fat free reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Directions

  1. Melt Promise® Buttery Spread in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and cook onion, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds. Stir in green beans and cook, stirring occasionally, 1 minute. Add broth and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until green beans are crisp-tender, about 6 minutes.

Delicious, very easy to make. I had some baby potatoes on hand so I added them to my green beans and it cooked up great. I find this to be the best way to cook green beans, will definitely try again. Thanks!

very tasty and refreshing. i added 2 tablespoon of lemon juice instead. and season with a pinch of white pepper
