Description

A traditional Portuguese cake with a sweet lemony tang. Coated in cinnamon and sugar, this cake is your favorite lemon cake and snickerdoodle cookie in one. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients

250 grams brown sugar
3 large eggs (or 4 medium eggs)
100 grams lard
80 grams butter
1 lemon zest
200 grams flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
sugar (to sprinkle)
cinnamon (to sprinkle)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2Grease a pan with lard and sprinkle with flour. Set aside.
3Sift the sugar, and add the eggs. Beat well.
4Add the margarine and the lard, previously softened in the microwave. Beat again.
5Add the lemon zest, flour, and baking powder. Mix without beating.
6Place the dough in the baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes.
7Remove from oven. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
